World
Flowers was established in 1989 and became a major supplier to the
wholesale markets from 1993.
In 1996 the company started supplying direct into major retail
multiples. Since 1996 these retail multiple lines have grown both
in product range and volume and continue to show increasing sales.
The company expanded again in 2000 by introducing it's own home
delivery service, delivering straight to the customer’s door.
In 2001 the launch of Tesco.com and other accounts meant the home
delivery sector became an important part of the portfolio. We now
also supply Sainsbury's and John Lewis Direct.
World Flowers is now the UK’s market leader in the supply
of cut flowers. Flowers are imported from all over the world and
the company has a special trading arrangement with Kenya where it
works closely with a number of farms growing a wide variety of flowers
especially roses and carnations.
The company has grown substantially since 1989 and now imports
over 1.5 billion stems per year to retail multiples, wholesalers,
specialist florists, the e-commerce industry and direct-to-consumers.
